Memory Brian Olson
I was recently asked to custom engrave a plaque for the Memory of Brian Olson. The interesting part of this request is that Brian was a hunter and disabled. When hearing about his story, I knew that this was going to be a very gratifying project. The most amazing thing was learning about an organization that enables disabled hunters to be able to pursue their passion!
Al and Sharon McCarty created Chairbound Hunters, a non-profit organization, which enables hunters the opportunity to experience quality hunting in beautiful southeastern Wyoming. This organization provides service to those with disabilities that would otherwise make hunting out of their reach. They have helped many to be able to continue this activity despite being wheel chair bound.
I did not know Brian personally but with Al and Sharon’s guidance was able to learn of his story. He passed away recently and his daughter wanted a special and unique tribute for her dad. We sat together and discussed how to create a meaningful plaque that would capture the sentiment they wanted to express. Combining the Chairbound Hunters logo, a wildlife scene and the driving force behind what motivates them to do what they do: Philippians 4:13 “ I can do all this through Him who gives me strength”; we were able to create a lasting memorial that Brian’s daughter will cherish for years to come!
